Local Voice began as Davis Media, founded by Thomas G. Davis in 2005 with the purchase of two FM stations in Williamsburg, Virginia. The company launched the digital newspaper Williamsburg-Yorktown Daily (wydaily.com) in June of 2008, combining the best assets of both radio and the newspaper industry under one platform. Their proprietary model for a radio/digital platform was the beginning of Local Voice.
The Local Voice media model is embraced by each community due to the company’s strict adherence to journalistic integrity. Our best practices in news gathering and delivery are collectively called True News, which is our promise to the public.
